Our Heidi That is my Heidi girl on the first day that we'd gotten her. She was so happy to be rescued--- she was down on her last day. JD's Childhood Doberman had passed away just few days earlier and this was our first outing together. Heidi came into our lives all bouncy and with a gift of love and admiration so special She was to be an outside keeping JD company but ended up being my gurl watching me cook clean, and do things all over the house. She'd lay in the kitchen watching me just waiting for a treat or something to slip from my hands. I 'd peel the carrots directly off onto the floor so she'd snatch them up. I planted 5 rows of broccoli in the garden so there would be enough to cover both us and her appetite. My friends loved to see her too. She'd gone skateboarding with me and would run till she'd about drop. Heidi had all the skater dudes eating from her paw --the center of attraction where ever we showed up. The last few weeks we've had to help her in and out of the house on a ramp JD had made just for her. Her hind hips were bothering her. The cancer had also taken it's toll. After spending the last few days practically at her side we knew the time had come when we needed the kindness of our family Veterinarian to stop by. Heidi had spent the last two days enjoying the warm sun, the birds, and squirrels. She joined her friends Rocky and Herman up on the hill about 5:30 to wait till it's our turn to come play and romp with her again. |

Bret, just logged on and was surprised to learn of Heidi's passing. The last few days haven't been good I know but wanted to believe in her recovery. My sympathy's to JD & you. I know how much she mean't to you. I know and more important SHE knew how much she was loved. Rough days ahead as you will look for her or expect her. Many thanks for sharing her with us in your blogs. xoxox
